The difference we make

The HIVE proactively seeks solutions to the issues that negatively affect people’s lives by taking a long-term strategic view.

Our team at The HIVE reaches out and gives opportunities to children and young people with a particular focus on the more vulnerable. The work of The HIVE helps the youngsters realise what kind of adults they could be, giving them a better chance in life.

We guide and nurture young people, encouraging them to be ambitious and make the most of themselves. Investing in young lives, before disadvantage and disappointment take root, is often a cost-effective way to prevent problems developing in the future.

Marks’s Story

Mark had huge problems at school. He had few social skills and struggled to cope with learning. As a result, he was unfocussed and behaved aggressively. He was at real risk of exclusion.  The team at The HIVE encouraged his involvement in Croydon Children’s University™. He started coming to the activities; he wanted to learn and build up his points. Both school and his parents say Mark's participation in Croydon Children’s University™ has made a huge difference to both his behaviour and the way he is now able to cope with all that life throws at him. He is no longer at risk of exclusion from school. Mark’s has been a success story. He is not alone.
