The HIVE would like to support local artists by promoting their work and achievements by offering a series of cultural events.
We have two fantastic opportunities for children and families to access the arts tis Summer!
Croydonist: The performance takes place in the new cultural hub at St Andrew’s. How are you guys involved with that?
Rosalind: We were initially invited to come and take a look at St Andrew’s Church about 6 months ago. We walked through the door and our jaws dropped! I have never seen a space more made for theatre than this church! Since then we have been working alongside The Hive and the church to see how we can make the building more accessible to the whole community and we thought what better way to do that than opening it up to a theatre audience. It is the most wonderful place to rehearse; we recently created an immersive show in the space, inviting local primary school students to be our first test audiences. See here
On 17 May, Croydonites brings Pop-Up Opera to the atmospheric St Andrews Church, Croydon to perform their new Mozart Doube Bill. Early bird tickets are available from their website until Tuesday 27 March. http://www.croydonites.com/pop-up-opera.html

'The OTHER Foundation works to support the arts by harnessing grass roots creative's and giving them the tools to grow. However, art can be so much more than a thing of aesthetic and conceptual beauty; The OTHER Syndicate utilises the power of the creative world to support local communities. Working with Children's University is an excellent opportunity to show how powerful the arts can be for young people and families in expression, education and enjoyment. Children's University highlights the importance of extra curricular activities, The OTHER Syndicate is built on turning hobbies into tools for individual and social change. Nothing is more powerful than fun.'
