The HIVE, has evolved as an independent charity by establishing credibility in the community through our Executive Director and Trustees involvement with the Waddon Inclusion Network (WIN), and by delivering The Children’s University™ in the locality over the last six years.

With links through our Board of Trustees (Educators themselves), the Executive Director and St Andrews Church we have a proven track record in fostering a love for learning and delivering programmes to young people and their families in the Croydon area that have a 100% take up and success rate.

Our projects support a wide range of groups in our local community.

We start by nurturing families by offering fun family learning opportunities to develop positive attitudes to learning, greater confidence and employability, improved health and wellbeing and improvements to young people’s development and attainment. This helps to break the link between opportunity and background.

As children grow and become more independent learners we offer them a range of opportunities to explore through the Children’s University Programme.

When they become confident young people looking for more experiences, we offer them volunteering opportunities both within the Children’s University Programme and within the local community. These projects have included Intergenerational IT Workshops, Multi Cultural Story Circles and running Children’s University Lunchtime clubs.

The Hive continues to support parents and carers through our partnership with CALAT offering a series of workshops focus on key skills.

We have worked with Age UK to support older people getting online. With the support of a wide range of volunteers who freely give their time to help us meet this groups needs.
